- Now deals 50% more damage with Ignite at gem level 1 (from 30%), up to 88% at gem level 20 (From 68%). Now applies an additional debuff when you Ignite, dealing extra burning damage based on the magnitude of the Ignite. Now gains +1% to Fire Damage over Time Multiplier per 2% gem quality (from 3% increased Ignite duration per 1% gem quality).

The Fireplace is a craftable equipment item. Once lit, it can be used to cook food and provide warmth and light to any nearby survivors.
Patch Changes:
- Patch 1.02: all forms of the fireplace have a persistence issue that may despawn them after 24 in-game hours thus deleting all items/upgrades/attachments.
- Patch 1.08: a fireplace cannot be ignited in interior space with a ceiling height of below 5 meters, an excessively windy area or in the pouring rain.

- Standing too close to the fire will eventually overheat the player sending their warmth counter into Yellow and the player will animate that they are sweating and overheating.
- Walking over a lit Fireplace on the ground will damage the player's health.
How it Works[edit edit source]
To construct and light a basic Fireplace, you'll need:
- Kindling (1x of any): Light Bark / Oak Bark / Paper / Rag or a Bandage.
- Fuel (1x of any): Short Sticks or Firewood to create the initial Fireplace and for additional fuel afterward.
- Ignition: Matches, a Road Flare, a Lighter or a Hand Drill Kit.
- To create the Fireplace Kit: combine 1x Kindling with 1x Fuel and craft the kit. Once crafted: it may be deployed almost anywhere on the ground or placed inside of a static Fireplace inside of a house. Note: The static Fireplaces in buildings accept the fuel directly from your hands and do not need to be crafted into a Fireplace Kit first.
- After creating and/or deploying the Fireplace Kit: place additional fuel in the form of Short Sticks or Firewood through the inventory screen by placing it into the respective attachment area. Fuel can be added at any time as a single stack, individually or cumulatively which will burn 1x piece at a time until they are all consumed. WARNING: Any items added to the 10+ slot cargo area will be DESTROYED over time when left for too long!
- Ignite the fireplace by holding and using Matches, a Road Flare, a Lighter or a Hand Drill Kit. How easy it is to start a fire depends on weather conditions such as wind strength and rain. Note: Starting a fire in wind and/or rain will result in added difficulty in doing so successfully and may also cause your fire to stop burning quickly.
- If all of the fuel for a fireplace has been consumed or weather results in the fire going out: it can be reignited by looking at the still-glowing fireplace while it remains warm and blowing air into via scrolling through to the appropriate option with 'F'. Note: This will only work so long as there is some sort of fuel in the fireplace. If it has all been consumed: more fuel and fresh kindling will need to be added before reigniting is possible.

Upgrading your Fireplace[edit edit source]

- The purpose of upgrading a Fireplace with Stones is to increase server persistence of the cooking appliance as Fireplaces have a set, short de-spawn time especially on server restarts which can result in players losing Campfire Tripods, Cooking Pots and Frying Pans if they are not careful.
- Player constructed Stone Rings and Stone Ovens have a much higher, longer persistence count than simple Fireplaces.
- Player constructed Stone Rings and Stone Ovens have a much higher, longer persistence count than simple Fireplaces.
- A Stone Ring can be added to the fireplace by adding 8 x Stones.
- A Cooking Tripod can be added as an appliance to the Fireplace or Stone Ring to allow attaching 1 x Cooking Pot.
- A Fireplace can be upgraded into a Stone Oven by adding 16 x Stones to a Fireplace or by adding an additional 8 x Stones to a Stone Ring.
- A Stone Oven can have 3x cumulative Cooking Pots and/or Frying Pans attached.
Note: You cannot pick up a Stone Circle / Stone Oven off the ground like a Fireplace due to their excessive weight of the added Stones. They must be dismantled with empty hands before they can be relocated or rebuilt.
